So after having photographed Craig & Kimberley's wedding at Weald Of Kent last year, Craig's sister Sarah booked us for not only her & Nathan's wedding this year but also for a family shoot with the 4 of them plus Craig & Sarah's parents....oh & all the family dogs too! We had arranged to meet up at Perry Woods, a 150 acre wood in Faversham for a relaxed, outdoor shoot on a lovely sunny April afternoon.
It was a lovely relaxed day too. They wanted group shots of them all together, along with couple shots & ones including the dogs. Its a beautiful area with plenty of sunlight streaming in through the trees so perfect for a photo shoot. Plus everyone knows how much I hate studios haha!
The day was topped off by an amazing bit of news & a huge surprise for the whole family too, which Craig & Kimberley chose to announce to their family that they were pregnant! And even had photos printed off (from their wedding) with the announcement written on to give to their family. Plus I was even there to capture the moment!
So obviously I've always said that once Claire was pregnant, I was determined that I was going to do a Maternity shoot with her. So at 35 weeks, we felt bump was a good enough size for the photos. Yes I was just a little bit excited!
If the weather had been better and it wasn't April...in England, we would have done an outdoor shoot which is what Claire wanted but instead opted to stay out of the cold, raining April and have a play around with one of our vintage backdrops. Outdoor shoot will be for Baby No2 haha!
Claire wanted a summery, Bohemian and natural feeling shoot. I definitely feel like this is what we achieved. I have only really done one previous Maternity shoot so this was definitely an experiment. And we are both over the moon with how the photos come out. My wife looks beautiful and is blooming! I can't wait for our little Ninja to make his appearance and I'm so excited to finally become a dad!
Next experiment will be Newborn Baby photos! Watch this space!
