So today was our 2nd wedding within a few weeks at High Rocks in Tunbridge Wells. We started the day heading straight to the venue as Amber wanted us to arrive early so that we could photograph family and friends arriving at the venue. We were also photographing in a different room today, The Bell Room, one of 4 rooms available at the venue. This room is upstairs, has its own bar and balcony with amazing views over the countryside and old steam railway.
Alex & Amber wanted the ceremony to run a little differently to the usual, with them requesting their guests exit the room first when they had finished signing the register and waiting for them outside with confetti at the ready.
The venue is quirky in that its positioned right opposite a scenic National Monument with acres of interlinked sandstone rocks and bridges. This is the perfect place for drinks and photos, before heading back into the venue for much needed food and the evening reception.
These two are just so lovely! As were all their guests, we had such fun mingling and chatting with everyone. Amber took some beautiful portrait photos too, some of our favourites so far! A very easy and beautiful wedding to photograph!
Waking up to a beautiful sunny day was a perfect start as todays wedding was to be held outdoors. The venue was The Thatched Barn in Dover and our bride and groom had planned a relaxed, bohemian styled wedding. Although the venue doesn't have a marriage license, a little thing like this wasn't going to stop Salome, who decided her dad would hold a blessing ceremony with their legal vows taking place in a registry office. That was just the paperwork, today was all about the wedding! And what a beautiful wedding is was!
We did cover some bridal hair and make-up shots at Salome's parent house, before we headed off to the venue. We knew about a surprise that she has planned for fireman Craig, by arranging to arrive in an old Green Goddess Fire Truck. During the ceremony, Salome's dad and sister Beth played music and sang whilst her dad then took the reins for the rest of the ceremony by acting as the registrar. It was heartfelt, meaningful and very different to a usual ceremony.
The barn was decorated to a music theme and looked amazing! Fresh flowers everywhere, including Salome's hair which was something she always said she would do and Craig wore a bow-tie and braces, the best kind of groom wedding attire for sure! The naked cake was hand-made by Craig, there was a band instead of the usual DJ and their wedding portraits shots were taken in a long grass field with Salome wearing no shoes. Completely sums up the day, naturally beautiful!
The Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Bearsted was todays venue for the wedding of Tony & Imogen. The hotel has a fantastic space to hold weddings, choices for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies with a beautifully bright marquee set up by the pond and gardens. It also has big, naturally lit bedrooms, perfect for Imogen getting ready along with hair & make-up help from the fab Hayley at Flair Beauty. Imogen looked stunning in her strapless lace dress.
It was another hot, sunny day so the guests spent most of their time in the garden but with the weather being so perfect we had lots of chances to sneak off with Tony & Imogen for some gorgeous portrait shots by the golf course and gardens. There were also loads of details to photograph, the room looked lovely thanks to the staff at the venue.
Craig & Debbie are a lovely couple who's wedding we booked through Claire's wedding dress supplier Bridal Way in Ramsgate, after Keeley put Debbie in touch with us on recommendation from her. So we knew Debbie was going to have an amazing dress for starters plus a new venue for us, Stonelees Golf Club in Pegwell, Ramsgate.
We were covering all day from preparations at their home through to the first dance and from start to finish it was a beautiful day. Ok, it did rain a little leading up to the ceremony, the venue were in 2 minds as whether to set up outdoors as planned but they made a last minute decision and it paid off, it only started raining for the last 10 minutes and the sun came out for the rest of the day!
Its a lovely venue for an outdoor ceremony too, being set right in front of the small lake and fountains. Plus we were given 2 golf buggies to take Craig & Debbie onto the course for some photos after dinner. We had such fun, took full advantage of the amazing scenery and it was a pleasure photographing such a lovely day!
