Westgate Gardens in Canterbury is one of the prettiest locations for a couples photoshoot and Ben & Justine are always so easy to photograph!. They were super relaxed, with the shoot consisting of piggy backs, laughing and messing about like big kids. I am sure that they forgot that I was even there most the time! I photographed their wedding not that long ago so it was lovely to work with them again. They are literally the cutest couple!
I met James a few years ago when I photographed his mum's wedding and I have also got James & Katy's wedding booked for later this year at the Little Hermitage so it was lovely to have them book an engagement session with me too! We chose Whitstable as the location and thankfully we had some good weather on the day of the shoot. They were very relaxed and super easy to photograph!
Alan & Jade got married at the stunning George In Rye on a crisp winters day in December. This was a beautifully decorated Christmas themed wedding, with Christmas tree's, garland decorated candelabras, crackers and snow flakes stationary. Rye is such a pretty, quaint place and honestly you could photograph here for hours. It may have been a bit chilly but it din't stop us from getting some beautiful photos!
There isn't much you can do about the weather in November on your wedding day, but even if its rainy and misty out over the sea, we still have lots of fun photographing our couples portrait shots even if it means we get a bit wet! Matt & Georgie didn't care about the weather, these guys were ridiculously happy and enjoying every moment of their wedding at the beautiful Easy Quay in Whitstable.
Their family and friends were all so lovely and made me feel like one of them! We also got creative with their son Josh's favourite dinosaur who not only made a special appearance at the wedding but also got involved in some of the ring photos!
A beautiful vintage inspired wedding at The Plough at Leigh. Autumnal colours and golden sunsets, everything was so perfectly tied together. This venue has a separate 17th Century barn for weddings, which was super cosy once the evening came and it started to get a bit chilly. Some of my favourite moments from Tom & Kim's wedding were definitely Kim waiting in the car, lost in her our thoughts, waiting to marry the man of her dreams and their portrait shouts out in the venue's pretty gardens. These guys were so easy to work with, from start to finish!
Paul & Katie's wedding was an autumn wedding but you would never know it wasn't the height of the summer with the sunshine and warm weather! Katie had opted out of any shots of her getting ready, some brides prefer a bit of chill time with their bridesmaids/family before the ceremony, so I had more time at the venue to get some detailed shots before everyone arrived.
I always tend to go a bit mad at East Quay with the room and detail shots as it always looks awesome here, even if simply decorated and the natural colours Paul & Katie had chosen with the subtle colour hints of lavender really looked beautiful!
Weddings are of course, a celebration of love but for Peter & Stephen, this was equally about having their family and friends celebrating every moment with them. You could see how much love they both had for each other and every guest, they just kinda made you feel all warm and fuzzy. They both also have such a passion for Margate. They love where they live and it was always going to be the place that they said I Do! Dreamland is fairly new for weddings but the ballroom is stunning and you really have full use of the theme park and rides along with an awesome roof top bar and gold passes to fast track guests (and me) onto the rides! This really was a beautiful wedding, they added personal touches to their themed tables, but the quote on their napkins really summed up the day...
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return"
Elliott & Ruth knew exactly the style of photography that they wanted for their wedding. These guys were both so lovely and happy to run with us and pop out to shoot at the best points throughout the day. Mostly we were aiming at golden hour. It was hitting that time of year where the nights were getting darker, quicker so we were working around the food and speeches. The Blazing Donkey Country Hotel has beautiful countryside whichever direction you walk and its always so peaceful, like there is nothing for miles! Their guests were all awesome too, especially Elliott's Best Man and Ushers, a crazy lot, lots of laughs to be had!
James & Clare had the most beautiful church ceremony at St Mary the Virgin Church in Thurnham, Maidstone, followed by a reception at The Black Horse Inn, a lovely rural 18th Century pub, a stones throw from the church. I can highly recommend this pub for its amazing food, I don't think I stopped going on about the food since I photographed this wedding actually haha. I took a lot of photos of these guys, they were both so easy to work with, completely and utterly in love with each other, plus I really did have the most amazing countryside to work with!
Another wedding at the beautiful East Quay in Whitstable and we had really been looking forward to this one since David & Sammy booked us. These guys are just such a laugh and so cool! David is a very talented, local artist and we knew this was going to be a fun wedding with loads of opportunities for quirky photos. The guests were also all pretty awesome and up for a laugh! We could have stayed with these guys all night long and just kept shooting and we are very much looking forward to catching up with them both soon for a few beers.
The Darenth in Sevenoaks is actually a really lovely golf course venue for a summer wedding. Lee & Kate chose this venue and to get married outdoors in The Pavillon which is a huge bonus for us loving the natural light! So easy and effortless, especially Kate who took beautiful portrait photos all day! A truly lovely couple who radiated happiness and complete and utter love for each other.
The Ferry House Inn in Harty is a beautifully located venue. With views of the estuary and surrounded by rolling countryside, its a perfect place for a summer wedding. Joe & Layne took advantage of the sunshine with an outdoor ceremony and what a lovely ceremony it was! Plus with 12 bridesmaids to photograph, some of who we knew from previous weddings, we definitely were kept busy throughout the day haha. We love the photos we got of them both, they were very natural in from of the camera which makes our job so much easier and knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding day and photos
Ian & Sarah got married at the beautiful Whitstable Castle, just a few days after we got back from our holiday to Majorca. We love working at local venues and this place is literally a few minutes drive away. Its such a pretty venue, with stunning well maintained gardens and endless places around Whitstable to go for photographs. These guys were both just so lovely! This was such an enjoyable, local wedding. Intimate, relaxed and you can see this in the photos.
The Secret Garden in Ashford is a new venue for us this year and what a lovely wedding it was! Dan & Bethany decorated the venue so beautifully with bunting and flowers, These guys photographed like a dream and it really felt like the perfect summers day. We always get really excited when we get to the point at a wedding where we get to whisk them away from their guests for their portrait photos, just the 2 of them and the first real chance they get to be alone together. And the shots we got of these guys were gorgeous, especially in the beautiful long grass!
Liam & Tasha's June wedding was held at The Crown Inn in Finglesham, Deal, an unexpectedly gorgeous little 16th Century inn which is actually perfect for intimate and smaller weddings. It has a lovely area for holding outdoor ceremonies, no shortage of places for photographs either. It was a lovely day and Tasha looked lovely in her unusual style wedding dress from Bridal Way in Ramsgate and flower crown headpiece. Even the guys scrubbed up pretty well in some cool dark purple suits. Another beautiful set of photographs for such a lovely couple!
Roy & Hannah's beautiful summer wedding at Knowle Country House in Rochester was a gorgeous day! This is a really lovely venue, our first time working here. With stunning orchards and traditional english gardens which are perfect for wedding photos. Roy & Hannah are such a sweet couple too. These guys were an effortless pleasure to photograph and love an emotional groom at the ceremony.
It was such a lovely day photographing Chris & Danielle's beautiful Vintage inspired wedding at The Kings Arms Hotel in Westerham. These guys were a pleasure to work with, I loved the details in Danielle's dress, especially the beaded back and her little accessories she paired with her dress, I definitely got a little bit snap happy haha! This is a really lovely little venue too. We also got to venture off to some lovely rural areas for some photos of just the two of them as they have the most willing and relaxed driver who was happy to take them anywhere they fancied!
The first of our East Quay weddings of this year and what a beautiful day for a wedding! This venue is perfectly located, right on the beach in our home town of Whitstable. This place is winning awards and being featured everywhere right now so its exciting to be photographing here with such a fab couple.
Lloyd & Jo incorporated so many awesome ideas into their ceremony and reception. We loved the mixing of coloured sands during their ceremony to signify the family joining together, so lovely! The venue was decorated beautifully too and we got to have lots of fun with their portrait shots due to the cool industrial beach front location plus they both wanted loads of photos! These guys are so in love and it showed in their photos for sure.
Dale & Charlotte's wedding was pretty cool! It was being held in a beautiful venue, The Thatched Barn, Dover, which doesn't have a marriage license yet so they had their ceremony in a lovely church, St Peter & St Pauls, just a few miles away. Dale surprised Charlotte with a helicopter as her wedding transport to take her to the ceremony and then take them both on to the venue, via a tour of the coast and I was lucky enough to jump in with them and get some photos of them enjoying themselves with the amazing views over Dover!
Aaron & Jessica at a simple ceremony at Medway registry Office in the heart of Rochester. This was then followed by a reception at The St George Hotel which is only a few minutes up the road. It was a lovely, small and intimate wedding and this venue is perfect for smaller wedding parties. We also had enough time during the day for 2 batches of portrait shots over at Victoria Gardens which is opposite the hotel. We adore the photos of them both together, those first special moments together, just the two of them! Was hard to chose from the selection for this blog too!
