Chris & Holly
Venue - Maison Dieu - Town Hall, Dover
Location - Dover, Kent
Date - 28th November 2013
On the 28th November I had the chance to photograph at the historic Dover Town Hall for the 2nd time at the wedding of Chris & Holly. This was quite a late booking taken but Holly already had lots of ideas for photographs and was very excited about the prospect of getting married at this beautiful venue.
I started the day at Holly's home but we were also taking advantage of the fact that her dad lived next door so we had 2 wedding preparation venues, one for hair and one for make-up. I photographed Holly and her bridesmaids getting ready, in between them enjoying a glass of bubbly. Everyone was very laid back, enjoying the atmosphere. I headed off to the venue as Holly started to get dressed as she prefered the idea of me getting to the venue a bit earlier and getting photographs of the guests and rings, of which we had some great ideas!
Chris was a bit nervous but also very excited, but everything was running smoothly. I got some shots of the guests and wedding rings and we waited for Holly to arrive. I got the usual photos of Holly arriving with her bridesmaids and headed back inside the hall ready for the ceremony. It was a lovely entrance as Chris was stood waiting for Holly with their son Henry in his arms as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was so lovely, emotions running wild, lots of teary eyes and laughter by the bride and groom plus all the guests.
After the ceremony we got some shots of everyone outside. Holly has some photos that she really wanted to get so we worked through these, as much as I don't normally like posed photos, these were fun and very different to the usual! Then afterwards everyone headed back inside for the wedding breakfast. Both myself and videographer had food included which is always nice.
After the speeches were finished and everyone had drunk a few glasses of bubbly, the party started and Holly was the first one on the dance floor with her bridesmaids. They had a few songs worth of dancing before Chris & Holly made their way onto the dance floor for their first dance. I got the first dance shots then made my way around saying goodbye before heading home. As I left Dover Town Hall, I could tell that this was going to be a very fun party as everyone was up dancing. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their wedding and wish them both all the best!
