GARY & CARLY RYE TOWN HALL & THE GEORGE IN RYE RYE
So this was our first wedding over in Sussex, in the beautiful medievil town of Rye. A place we know very well as we often visit here during the summer for their amazing antique shops and high street so we were very excited to have the chance to photograph in and around the cobbled streets of Rye for todays wedding of Gary & Carly.
We started the day where it would finish, in the beautiful George In Rye hotel, a venue we would highly recommend! The Georgian Ballroom is stunning and its ideally positioned within walking distance of the Town Hall, a former court room. Carly was getting ready in one of the rooms then to be walking to the Town Hall with her dad by her side. Awaiting us on arrival was the local town crier who would be announcing their wedding plus walking them back down to their reception venue after the ceremony.
After a lovely intimate ceremony, the town crier did his thing and announced Gary & Carly's wedding before escorting them back down the street, ringing his bell, much to the enjoyment of the locals who stopped to watch them. This was followed a meal at The George In Rye in the Benson Room for the 14 guests, before heading out for some photographs around Rye.
Rye is actually one of the most perfect places to photograph a wedding, from the high street to the churches and beautiful buildings to the castle and fort. Endless photo opportunities and Gary & Carly were so easy to photograph! Made our job very easy. Plus the evening reception was pretty awesome too at The George In Rye, the guest numbers jumped to well over 120 people and everyone was up dancing. Such a fab day and evening!
