JAMES & SEBLE WELLINGTON HOUSE & ABODE CANTERBURY CANTERBURY
Its very unusual to book a wedding with just a few weeks to go but this was one of those rare occasions. James contacting us regarding photographing his intimate wedding, with only a few selected family members attending. Including James & Seble, there were a total of 10 people. Although they live in Middlesex, they decided to hold their wedding in Canterbury, as this takes them back to where they first met, at University.
The ceremony was held at Wellington House in Canterbury, the local registry office. It was so lovely that James had chosen their son as his best man. Though it was funny watching James trying to explain to his son that he had to keep hold of the rings. He kept dropping them as his hands were too small to hold 2 boxes. Made everyone giggle.
It was such an small, intimate ceremony, especially with there only being a few guests. Apparently Seble's family is so big that they decided against a large wedding and chose the total opposite. Seble looked beautiful, led in by her daughter who was the flower girl, wearing a pretty vintage style lace dress.
After the ceremony, we were lucky to be included on their Canterbury Historic River Tour, a boat trip around Canterbury, which dropped us off just opposite the Abode hotel for the reception, where they were having their afternoon tea reception in the Cathedral Lounge, followed by family photos down by Westgate Gardens. It was a beautiful day and it made such a change from the usual weddings we photograph with 80+ guests.
