Venue - Holy Trinity Lamorbey, Sidcup & The Bull's Head, Chislehurst
Location - Sidcup & Chislehurst, Kent
Date - 25/05/2013
On Saturday 25th May 2013, we were excited to be photographing the wedding of Joe and Leila from London. The wedding was to be held in and around Sidcup in Kent and was to be a very relaxed wedding with some vintage twists. We were up bright and early to head up to The Bulls Head, as Leila was getting ready in the bridal suite in the hotel. We arrived slightly early and as the room wasn't quite ready, we decided to have a look around both the church and reception venue.
Once Leila was in her bridal suite, we joined her and her mum Ros and as we were covering her from bridal preparations, started to get some shots of her unique rose covered 1950's tea dress and her applying her wedding makeup. Gradually we were joined by the flower girls, plus Leila's sister Annie and her sister in law Sarah. The suite was stunning and perfect for the photos we wanted to achieve. I also popped next door and grabbed a few shots of Joe and the guys getting themselves ready.
Once Leila was dressed and ready to go, we headed back across to the Holy Trinity Church and got some relaxed shots of Joe and their family and friends waiting for the bride to arrive. The wedding cars were awesome! A convertible VW Beetle and a VW Campervan, very vintage! The ceremony itself was lovely, the choir fantastic and the service really captured the true meaning of love and partnership. We both got some great shots in the church and afterwards we got a selection of family group shots in the beautiful gardens of the church. Joe and Leila didn't want many posed shots, they preferred the natural candid shots which we specialise in so we mingled with the family and friends snapping away until it was time to head to the reception venue, back at The Bull's Head.
By now the tables were beautifully dressed by the wedding team at the hotel in their colour scheme of pale yellow and white. The vintage theme was incorporated in the flowers and decorations which were beautiful. We were once again mingling with the guests in the garden and bar until the wedding breakfast was served. We were invited to join them for a 3 course dinner, consisting of a fish starter, lamb shank with mash and a strawberry shortcake dessert. All very tasty and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The speeches went without a hitch and there were tears when Joe made his heartfelt speech to Leila.
As the evening drew in, the party were moved back into the bar so the ballroom could be arranged for the evening reception and we stayed long enough to take some photos of Joe and Leila having their first dance plus Leila was determined to have a some photos taken of her spinning on the dance floor, showing off her dress.
In honestly this was one of the easiest and most relaxed weddings we have ever photographed! It felt calm and highly organised and Leila was the only bride both us and the hotel have ever seen to have a folder of all the details, right down to pie charts and graphs haha. It definitely helped make sure nothing went wrong and we are so pleased with the beautifully natural photos we achieved especially with Leila who never stopped laughing. We wish both Joe and Leila all the best in their newly married life together and also want to thank them for making us feel so welcome as did their family and friends, many of whom we are now Facebook friends with.
