MARTIN & REBECCA BEACON HOUSE & WHITSTABLE CASTLE WHISTABLE
Today we got to photograph a Royal Navy wedding at the beautiful Beacon House, a venue that we have been in love with since we started looking for wedding venues for our wedding a couple of years ago but sadly it was too small for us but its perfect for an intimate wedding and we were so excited about finally shooting a wedding here!
As we mentioned, its a very intimate venue, holding maybe 40-50 people with a New England feel! Its positioned below Tankerton Slopes, right by the beach opposite a popular stretch of beach called The Street. The venue has been used for many different magazines shoots, music videos (i.e The Saturdays) and films too so its a fab opportunity to work with a local venue in our seaside home of Whitstable.
Martin & Rebecca are a lovely couple who have lived all over England due to Martin being positioned in the Navy so they close this venue with a "put a pin in a map" to find a wedding venue by the sea for their ceremony and reception. They had never visited Whitstable before so we only met up with them the day before their wedding.
Normally the idea of a beach front wedding in October would make you think of rain, wild and cold but we actually had a beautiful sunny day instead. And it was topped off with local seafood canapés from town, dinner up at Whitstable Castle and back down to Beacon House for crepes/pancakes and a live band for the evening reception. Such a lovely bunch of people and it was a fab wedding too!
