Martyn & Hannah
Family Portrait Shoot
Location - Ashford, Kent
Date - 29th November 2013
On Friday 29th November I was off to Ashford for a family shoot plus the added bonus of a wedding consultation all rolled into one. Martyn & Hannah had originally contacted me regarding their wedding in 2015 but decided it would be fun to have a photo shoot with their children, Daisy & Eden plus their family pug Ted to turn into Christmas cards.
It was a lovely autumn day and any who knows me knows I hate photographing family shoots against a white backdrop so was happy that they wanted to shoot on location. We decided to venture out into the woods surrounding their home. We did a few tests shots indoors so that Daisy & Eden got used to me taking their photos and then everyone got wrapped up in coats and hats and headed outside.
It was only a few minutes walk from their home to the location. We had a few ideas to get started with and as with most shoots, other ideas pop into your head as you are wandering around. We wanted natural family shots, nothing posed or cheesy looking. Just a family, out and about for a winters walk with Ted.
We played around with fallen leaves, especially Daisy who loved it, meaning that we got some great photos of her doing so! The photos mainly consisted of them walking, playing and just being a family. The style of family portraits that we love doing. Even Ted the pug enjoyed getting involved, it was a fun few hours and I really am looking forward to being part of their wedding in 2015.
