Venue - Maison Dieu - Town Hall, Dover
Location - Dover, Kent
Date - 01/06/2013
On Saturday 1st June I was invited to photograph the wedding of Paul and Caroline at the historic Maison Dieu - Dover Town Hall in Dover, Kent which was founded back in 1203. The building itself is beautiful and very grand. I arrived at the venue early to get some photographes of Paul and the guests as they arrived for the ceremony. The guests were congregating in The Stone Hall which was also to be the location of the reception whilst Paul had his meeting with the ceremony registrar.
Caroline arrived by limousine with her bridesmaids and her father and made her way to The Council Chamber, the room to be used for the wedding ceremony. The service was really lovely, both Paul and Caroline didn't really take their eyes off each other the whole time, one of the young bridesmaids did a reading and there was a room full of smiles.
After the service, we all headed outside to the steps outside the Maison Dieu. The entrance is very impressive so does make for some beautiful shots. We got a few group shots that the bride and groom requested then after the guests had made their way into The Stone Hall, I spent some time getting some images of just Paul and Caroline.
I took a selection of images inside the reception hall too, few group shots they requested and some of the beautiful decorations and the stunning cake. The Cadbury's purple colour scheme looked lovely and their love of music could be seen with the table names and seating plan. Just before everyone sat down to the wedding breakfast, I took them both to the
colourful Victorian stain glass window which depict the six Lord wardens of the Cinque Ports for a few more shots, which I have to admit are some of my favourites taken from the day.
Once we had finished these last few photographes, they proceeded with the wedding breakfast, I took a few random shots of the tables and made my way home back to Margate. I wish both Paul and Caroline all the best in married life together and I am sure that they will be very happy!
