Paul & Hayley were another quite late booking in our calendar, booked around 2 months before the wedding date. But they were a lovely couple who we got along with straight away, plus another nice venue to photograph so we were looking forward to it! We headed out at around 9am, due to arrive at the hotel for wedding preparation photography for around 11am. The whole days photography was to be in one venue, Bridgewood Manor Hotel, a lovely 4 star hotel with plenty of great places for photographs. A big central courtyard, open fireplaces and an attractive lobby to name a few!
We headed up to Hayley's hotel suite and I had the chance to photograph both her and her family along with her bridesmaid/flower girls getting ready plus Claire got the details of the dresses, shoes and accessories. We also took delivery of the flowers for her and got a few shots of the flowers which looked perfect for a wedding set a month before Christmas.
Whilst Hayley finished getting ready, we headed down to the function room to check on how the ceremony was to be set out and see how the lighting was in the room. The ceremony/function room was decorated all ready for Christmas and looked perfect for Paul & Hayley's wedding. We popped back upstairs to get the final shots of Hayley getting ready with her daughter and flower girl Megan and bridesmaid Lauren. We left Hayley to have her meeting with the Registrar and made our way back into the ceremony room to meet up with Paul and get ready for the ceremony due to start at 2pm.
The wedding was very easy to photograph, the Registrars were both brilliant, letting me freely move and use flash if required. His words were, I don't want to be to blame for saying don't use flash and the photos don't come out good so do whatever it takes to get beautiful photos for Paul & Hayley! Great guy haha! After the ceremony, they both took a moment to chat and admire their new weddings rings, big smiles from them both. Then they sat down again for the signing of the register. We got some great angled shots of them with the Christmas tree to the side of them, would have been wrong not to!
Afterwards, everyone made their way into the lobby and bar area, we took both Paul & Hayley, outside for some couple shots in the courtyard garden before letting the family join them and worked with them both to get all the group/family shots they wanted. It was a great atmosphere considering it was freezing cold outside. No one minded, they were just enjoying the moment! Once we were finished, everyone headed indoors and literally sat against the radiators, trying to warm up again. Something a drink at the bar would definitely cure lol, so thats where people headed. It wasn't long before the room was set up for their sit down meal. We were not needed until after so headed to the bar as Paul had kindly supplied us a bar meal.
Once Paul & Hayley were ready for their speeches, we popped back in for some photos, then headed back out with the guests whilst the hotel staff changed the room over for the evening reception. The hotel was very busy that night as there were 3 office Christmas parties being held in other function rooms so with the bar being busy and it also being hard to tell the guests apart, we decided to help speed things along and assisted the hotel staff preparing the room so Paul & Hayley could get back into their reception as quick as possible. Pretty soon the evening guests started to arrive so the manager called everyone back into the function room and we got the first dance underway. It was great to photograph as the DJ had little red hearts being projected on them as they danced. We were due to head off after they had finished, so we said our goodbyes and let them get back to celebrating a beautiful day! We even managed to get the photos delivered to them for Christmas Eve which we felt was a perfect Christmas present. We would like to wish both Paul & Hayley all the best in their married life together!
