Venues | Our favourites that we love to capture
After more than 15 years of photographing weddings, we've had the privilege of working at some truly incredible venues and these remain some of our absolute favourites. We've witnesses countless love stories unfold in some beautiful places. And these venues hold a special place in our hearts We've learned that a truly special venue is so much more than a beautiful building or impressive grounds. While of course, these do matter, the magic of a venue goes deeper than what you see at first glance.
As a photographer, we always notice how light moves through a venue. Large windows or French doors, a soft glow across a garden space in the evening, these elements help us to create beautiful images and to capture every moment. It's also really important for a venue to transition seamlessly from ceremony to drinks to evening reception. The staff are also a big part of ensuring the day flows and every little detail is thought out and planned. The people behind the scenes make everything run smoothly. When a couple feels supported by a fabulous team, they are much more relaxed and can be fully present during this important day. And yes of course it's important that your venue has that wow factor. Whether you are looking for a rural, rustic barn, a Manor House with sweeping gardens or something a little bit unusual, finding the right venue is where your story begins. Maybe you can take some inspiration from these amazing venues.
Highley Manor | Kent
Highley Manor is a 19th Century Manor House with a wealth of history. It was formerly associated with poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and was used as a base for the Canadian Army during World War II. I think one of the most unusual and stand out features at the venue is the beautiful Pavilion with the rolling countryside behind as a perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony. Framed by open skies and sweeping country views, it is often dressed in flowers and creates a beautifully intimate, storybook setting for saying your vows. They also have a rustic swing hanging from one of the trees, this is always a popular space with the guests.
The venue has amazing food which creates a shared experience around the tables, something for your guests to talk about. The staff are well organised, really helpful and super friendly. It's definitely a venue who likes to go above and beyond for its clients and we've found our couples have always felt so relaxed during their wedding day.
East Quay | Kent
East Quay is a beautiful seaside wedding venue, positioned directly by the shingle beach in the harbour with stunning sea views. Originally it was the oyster grading room of the Seasalter and Ham Fishery Co, something that Whitstable is very famous for. We love working here firstly because it's local, we are lucky enough to live in Whitstable, where this fantastic venue is located.
The decor retains those structural features from its heritage past, the brick walls, the beams and creates an industrial rustic chic vibe. Outside are vintage style deckchairs set up and picnic benches, perfect for those seafood canopies and fish and chip dinners. Picture your guests gathered along the shoreline, the sun setting over the sea and that crisp golden fish and salted chips. Doesn't get much better than that. The staff are so lovely here, it's run by a team who go out of their way to make every wedding special.
The Cider Works | Kent
The Cider Works is a public house with a restaurant that's been serving since 1794, which is pretty amazing! They have wonderful options for ceremonies such as The Apple Barn or Garden Room. The outside space is beautiful and perfect for a Summer evening. They also have some quirky Shepherd's huts on site so your guests can choose to stay and make it a late party night.
The venue has a fantastic head chef who creates bespoke menus for weddings, so whether you want fine dining, a BBQ, afternoon tea or a grazing table, they can literally cater for anything. The management and staff are really amazing here
The Ferry House | Kent
The Ferry House is a beautiful 16th Century venue. It's located along the Swale estuary among meadows and farmland. It feels completely secluded yet is easy reachable. It's a relaxed rustic venue with some amazing options for weddings such as the beautifully restored hop barn, the brightly lit marquee and an outdoor Oak gazebo, perfect for those outdoor Summer ceremonies.
The venue has fantastic food which is definitely one of the most memorable parts of the day. A beautiful meals brings everyone together and creates conversation. It also has the stunning Rose garden, rolling countryside and meadows and coastal views which are perfect for those couple shots. We have worked here numerous times and are looking forward to working here again in 2026.
